Austin St. John born September 17, 1975 (age 32)in Roswell, New Mexico, U.S. is an actor known for his role in Mighty Morphin
Power Rangers as Jason Lee Scott, the original Red Power Ranger and Gold Zeo Ranger.
Career
St. John left Power Rangers midway through the second season, and was replaced by Steve Cardenas (Rocky). Thuy Trang and Walter
Jones left the show along with him. He later returned as the Gold Ranger in Power Rangers: Zeo for a short time, and also
in Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie (along with Amy Jo Johnson). It was Cardenas, not St. John, who played the role of the Red
Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. St. John returned to the Power Rangers several years later in a 30-minute
special Power Rangers: The Lost Episode in which he co-starred with Jones, and Power Rangers: Wild Force to reprise his role
in the episode Forever Red. He also appeared in the 1998 film Expose.
Personal life
St. John and his family have moved all over the United States with his father, who is a U.S. Marine. St. John is of German,
Native American, Irish, Japanese, Italian, and Spanish descent [1] and his hometown is in Roswell, New Mexico. He began studying
martial arts with his father at the age of five. He has studied 14 different martial arts, including Taekwondo, Shenkito,
Judo, Thai Kickboxing and Kenpo. A sports enthusiast, St. John enjoys outdoor sports, especially football, soccer, hiking
and baseball.[2] He graduated from Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton, California and also attended W.T. Woodson High School
in Fairfax, Virginia for a year.
He and fellow cast member Walter Jones maintain a close friendship today. They both appeared at the Power Morphicon, the first
Power Rangers convention, which took place in Los Angeles in June of 2007. Currently, Austin is a paramedic in the Washington
DC suburbs of Northern Virginia.
He trained in Thai Kickboxing at Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand.

Strong and fearless, Jason is the former Red Ranger and original leader of the Power Rangers. To Jason went the Tyrannosaurus
Power Coin, giving him the power of the Tyrannosaurus, and control of the Tyrannosaurus Dinozord. Red Ranger's power weapon
is the Power Sword, a powerful weapon with a razor sharp edge. His weapon combined with the others to form the Power Blaster.
As Red Ranger, Jason gained enhanced strength, speed, and durability. His tactical knowledge and fighting skill make him the
ultimate Ranger. Jason closely follows the rules of Martial Arts, and promotes discipline and making friends out of enemies.
One sign of this is when Rita captured a new kid to Angle Grove named Tommy. Rita put a spell on the young teen and gave
him the green power coin to become the Green Ranger and destroy the other Rangers. This ultimately failed when Jason defeated
the Green Ranger and broke the spell making a friend out of an enemy when Tommy joined the team. that is for a while at least.
The Evil Rita made the Green Candle which would take Tommy's powers. When Tommy was just about to lose his powers as the Green
Ranger to evil, Zordon told him in order for Rita not to take the Green Ranger powers he must give his powers to another Ranger.
He passed on the Dragon Shield to Jason, who wore it on certain occasions. He also received Tommy's Dragon Dagger, which he
would use to summon Dragonzord. It is also this attitude that got him chosen to represent Angel Grove at the World Teen Summit,
a peace conference in Switzerland he attended, leaving the Rangers.

An alien named Trey came to Earth to assist the Rangers in their fight against the Machine Empire.The danger arose of
the Golden powers being lost forever, unless Trey transferred them to someone else. That someone else was Jason, the original
Red Ranger, back with the team, and back to action. His return as the Gold Ranger was a short lived one however, since his
body couldn't handle the alien nature of the Golden powers. With the Rangers' help, Trey was reunified and he reclaimed the
Golden powers.
Jason returned to action years later as the Red Ranger, joining forces with 9 other Red Rangers on a mission to the moon,
to prevent the Machine Empire from using Serpentera to destroy Earth.
